Conformity Part 3: Conformity Reconsidered

A$410.00

Acrylic paint on stretched canvas

61cm x 61cm x 4cm

As the third part in the Conformity series, Conformity Reconsidered, has taken on a different spin, and is relevant, very much, to the present day.

The Previous pieces were all about straight lines breaking out of the box- this piece however, asks a question, is conformity a necessary part of life in the present?

In these trying times, we as a population, need to abide by the rules, adhere to the health advice, and do what we’re told! This seems to be the way to get through these tough times. However, should we just sit down, and do what we are told? Do we trust that this will be the best thing to do?

The Conformity series has always been about challenging the norm, living your own rules, and breaking down barriers. Reconsidered, however, is a lot more consistent, both inside, and outside the box, suggesting that the “breaking out of the box’ has been subdued- even though the box is still broken- and although outside this box is more blurred, I feel this is more of a question rather than a statement of anti-authority !

However, it’s also a nice pretty pink picture that would look amazing on your wall, (and become a talking point with your guests)

Hope you like it!
