This piece is one which invokes a lot of emotion, and was one I very much enjoyed the journey of completing. It was based on a painting by William Blake, and started life as something completely different, which is often the case with my recent works.
In some ways this piece can be seen as thrilling, explosive, and dangerous. But i also get the feeling of comfort, of regeneration, of familiarity.
Freedom was painted in acrylic paint with bronze metallic foil leaf, and finished with 2 coats of quality matt varnish. The work is on a stretched canvas and all edges/ sides have been painted. It comes with a hanging wire on the back, and is fully ready to hang once it arrives at your home.
