acrylic Paint, on stretched canvas, Ready to hang
61cm (W) x 76cm (H) x 2cm (D)
I'm not usually one for bringing biblical imagery into my work, however I am fascinated by the story of the Tower of Babel, in Babylon. Perhaps even more than the story itself, this piece takes its main inspiration by an installation I saw at the Tate Modern a few years ago. I immediately fell in love with the entire concept of the work. This piece was also called Babel, and was by the artist Clido Meireles in 2001, I would highly recommend viewing this installation in person if you ever get the chance, it is a truly aw-inspiring, full sensory experience.
This piece is in acrylics on stretched canvas, with sides painted and a layer of quality matt varnish to complete the work, it is ready to hang as soon as it arrives in your home.
The metallic acrylics which form the tower, have great reflective properties, and provide a different imagery as lighting changes throughout the day.
This is an original, handmade artwork, and comes with a certificate of authenticity
